Hello! My name is Leia.

I graduated from The School of The Arts, Singapore (SOTA) in 2017.
I then went on to do my Undergraduate degree in Music at the University of Cambridge from 2018-2021.
I am now just completing my Master of Studies in Musicology at the University of Oxford.

I have been writing creatively for most of my life. Since starting University, I have been deeply invested in refining my academic writing. I consider the project of integrating these two registers of writing to be my primary vocation at the moment. If my writing interests you, I would  be happy to research and write with or for you.

I am also a composer and a musician. I have composed concert music (primarily of the acoustic medium), as well as music for/with dance, film, theatre, and visual art, in collaborations which I’ve found extremely fulfilling. I have also been commissioned to create interdiscplinary work, and am increasingly branching out into video media. My pieces typically draw upon my interests in language, literature, philosophy, and queer studies. If this excites you too, I would love to work with you.

Finally, I try to be a jack-of-some-trades musician, having played piano, harpsichord (Articulations with King’s College Music Society, 2019), percussion (The Prismatic Harpsichord with SOTA, 2019), and sung (The Experimental Man by Chowk Productions, 2019) in concerts and artistic projects.

Please enjoy the pieces on this site, and don’t hesitate to contact me at rachelleiadevadason@gmail.com if you’d like to use anything, collaborate with me or hire me.
